Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Brovana vs Spiriva COPD lung disease symptoms

Arformoterol, also known by the brand name Brovana, is a drug used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is the active—enantiomer of formoterol and a long-acting 2 adrenoreceptor agonist. In October 2006, it was licensed for medicinal use in the United States.

Tiotropium bromide, often known as Spiriva, is a long-acting bronchodilator used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. It is used specifically during episodes of breathing difficulties to prevent them from worsening rather than to prevent them from occurring.

Spiriva HandiHaler Inhalation Powder is an anticholinergic medication used to treat bronchitis, emphysema, and COPD. BROVANA is intended for long-term usage and should be used twice daily (in the morning and in the evening) to help manage the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and improve breathing.

A possible negative effect of BROVANA is shortness of breath soon after administration. Sudden shortness of breath can be fatal. Spiriva may cause immediate hypersensitivity responses, worsening of narrow-angle glaucoma, and worsening of urine retention.
