Xeljanz (tofacitinib citrate) is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used to treat adults with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have not responded to or cannot tolerate methotrexate.
Enbrel (etanercept) and Xeljanz (tofacitinib citrate) are rheumatoid arthritis medications.
Enbrel is also prescribed to patients suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis.
Enbrel and Xeljanz are from separate drug classes. Enbrel is a TNF inhibitor, and Xeljanz is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor.
Similar side effects of Enbrel and Xeljanz include headache, diarrhoea, and cold symptoms such as sore throat, runny or stuffy nose.
